Our Health is our greatest wealth. If we don’t have our health, what do we have? I believe that over time many of us inadvertently disconnect from our mind, body, and spirit and, slowly our bodies become unbalanced, stressed, and out of alignment. The stresses of everyday life piles atop our shoulders and we carry this stress, this weight, wherever we go. We take it to bed with us and wake up tired, depleted, and generally unwell. When we carry these stresses, we develop dis-ease, meaning our bodies are not at ease with themselves. This causes us health issues, migraines, extreme lack of energy and motivation, anxiety, and even depression. When we don’t release these stresses, they remain in our body, and the energy they create transforms into pain. Our bodies are always working toward a state of homeostasis, but when we pile stress, unhealthy food or substances such as alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, etc., it becomes overloaded and cannot detox as quick as it would like. I always refer to the body as a vehicle; we can’t expect a car to run properly and efficiently if we do not maintain it. Our eating habits are a great place to start. It’s important to be mindful of what we put into our body, unhealthy foods makes us feel, well, unhealthy! It takes loads of energy for our body to process foods that lack nutrition because it takes energy to search for the nutrients and vitamins in which it can’t find; this is why we often feel tired after eating junk food. It’s basically ‘dead food’, making us feel lifeless. We can also try natural methods such as Reiki Energy Healing. Reiki Energy Healing is a holistic therapy in which a practitioner such as myself aids you in bringing your body back into balance using Universal Life Force Energy. We are made of energy and, as I have mentioned before, there are many stressors that can put our energy out of balance. Through Reiki Energy Healing, your body is given ‘permission’ to relax, release, and revive itself by going into a deep meditative state. During a session, hands are placed at different areas of your body, allowing the energies to interact with each other, resulting in a balancing. We seldom take the time to stop and just ‘Be’ with ourselves. We seem to forget about the importance of the mind, body, and spirit connection, and how disconnect can cause dis-ease. By going within, we can address and release conscious and unconscious traumas that have been stored energetically in our bodies. When you experience a traumatic situation, the emotion you feel is turned into energy. When we don’t release the energy of the emotion, it becomes stored in our body’s cellular memory; this is when the energy of the emotion can turn into pain because it has nowhere to go. It needs to be released from your energy field, which is why Reiki Energy Healing is extremely beneficial to any healing journey. Reiki Energy Healing is also very beneficial to woman who are struggling with infertility. I have assisted four woman who have become pregnant after receiving Reiki treatments. They were stressed not only by life, but by the expectations and difficulties of becoming pregnant. READ MORE about Reiki and Infertility, . Another helpful method of release is crying. Our tears contain cortisol, the stress hormone, which is why it feels so amazing and calming when we cry. So don’t hesitate to cry when your need to! It’s important to the health of our well-being to take care of all aspects of our mental, our emotional, our physical, and our spiritual needs. You can envision these four elements as the foundation of your home; if two or more supports are unbalanced or missing, the structure cannot remain standing. Going within and connecting with self through Reiki/Meditation can be life-changing. It’s taking the path back home and learning to forgive yourself and others. It’s learning to love and accept yourself, and it’s a time to be vulnerable and allow your body to just ‘Be’ in stillness and in peace. When we surrender to the stresses and provide an outlet for their release, amazing transformation can take place. “Once you go within, you will never go without.” "Align your journey with your truth. The road becomes resistant when it’s not aligned with your heart." Soul Alive Barrie When we aren't following the truth of our hearts, and showing up as our authentic self at its very essence, resistance on our path soon shows up. When we go against what our heart truly desires, inner conflict arises, and discontentment, unhappiness and anxiety reveals its face. Our truth is our gift. It's the very thing that makes us who we are, but by hiding our truth, we hide parts of ourselves that want to shine and be seen. For the sake of our soul, it's "spiritually important" to acknowledge every part of who we are. Every layer of our being. When we are doing things that don't make us happy and putting our thoughts and energy into those things, the frequency we put out doesn't align with what we love and what we desire, it doesn't align with our truth and core values. If we put out this 'unaligned frequency', not only we will vibrate back what we don't love, others will unconsciously feel the inauthentic vibration we are emitting. This is especially important if you are a person of business. If what you are trying to sell, market or manifest is something that doesn't align with your core values and your truth, potential clients will sense from you a lack of genuine enthusiasm and passion. They won't feel the love for what you're doing. By not aligning our journey with our truth, we often end up in unhappy relationships, friendships that feel toxic and unfulfilling, and jobs and careers we dread going to every day. We remain on this 'resistant path' until our heart and our soul have no other option but to shift into alignment with our truth. While we need all the things that happen "for us" for the purpose of growth and self development, it's not soulfully healthy to remain in situations and environments where our truth is not being heard, seen, and acknowledged. You can't ignore who you truly are because your truth after all, is You. It's the essence of all the things that were created to make you exactly who you are, in all your grace and glory. How do we align our journey with our truth?
“To know how to choose a path with heart is to learn how to follow intuitive feeling. Logic can tell you superficially where a path might lead to, but it cannot judge whether your heart will be in it.” ~ Jean Shinoda Bolen
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with the wonderful Jennifer Klementti about her love for Essential Oils, her favorite blends and their many different uses.
What inspired you to enter the world of essential oils Jennifer? This past summer I decided to enroll with dōTERRA with a kit of the top ten oils and a diffuser. I had already witnessed the incredible impact of On Guard for supporting my immune function, and I was excited to start using the other oils as well. Little did I know then that these beautiful oils would have such a profound impact on my emotional, physical and spiritual health. Within a couple of weeks of using the oils, I knew that I wanted to learn more and that I wanted to share these oils with my family and friends. There are a few oils that had such an immediate impact on my health including Frankincense, Lavender, Deep Blue which is a blend for joint and muscle pain, and Digest Zen which supports digestive health. I was amazed at how quickly the oils worked, and I love that they are so simple to use and I knew that I had to share them. I have always loved essential oils and I have used various oil brands over the past twenty years. I regularly used Rose and Chamomile oil in my skin care routine, Patchouli was a longtime favorite as well. When I experienced the power of Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils, I was immediately intrigued and now a bit obsessed about learning all that I can about essential oils. Does your family use the oils as well? My husband, my daughter and I use the oils on a daily basis. We have diffusers in our bedrooms and diffuse either a blend of Lavender and Cedarwood or our current favorite Serenity. I made an On Guard roller bottle blend for my daughter so she could easily roll it on her feet in the mornings throughout the fall and winter cold and flu season. It’s important to always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil such as coconut oil, and to follow dilution guidelines based on age. This past school year was the first year that neither of us were sick! Amazing!! We also love to experiment with different diffuser blends in our home as well. So that’s a lot of fun creating our own combinations to diffuse. Can the oils be used for other purposes then in a diffuser? The oils can be used aromatically, topically and internally*. I love to have a couple drops of lemon in my water every morning as a refreshing and healthy boost to start my day. In the afternoon, I have a few drops of Slim & Sassy in my water; it's is a metabolic blend to help boost your metabolism and help manage hunger cravings. My husband and I both love to cook, and we use the oils quite often in our cooking. My absolute favorite way to use essential oils is topically. Whenever using essential oils topically, it is always important to follow dilution guidelines. I always have 5-6 different roller bottle blends in my purse at all times. Uplifting blends, blends to alleviate stress and anxiety as well as relaxing and calming blends. My current favorite though, is Whisper which is the blend for women. This oil blend combines with the individual’s chemistry to create a beautiful personal fragrance. I have tested this and it’s true! It definitely smells different on different women. Honestly, sometimes I wonder how I lived before without all these amazing oils, because I use them so much now throughout my daily routine. *Only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils internally and follow safety instructions on which oils are safe for internal use. Only use glass or stainless steel. Never use a plastic glass or water bottle What is your favorite oil and why? This is a tough question. I have many oils that I absolutely love! I would have to say that my favorite oil is Frankincense. Frankincense oil is often called the “king of oils”; it promotes feelings of peace and overall wellness. Frankincense has extraordinary health benefits. Frankincense has soothing and beautifying properties on the skin and can help reduce the appearance of imperfections. Frankincense can also help relieve inflammation and pain. I often like to use a combination of Frankincense and Lavender diluted with fractionated coconut oil to sooth a sore back, or my knees after a day of skiing or hiking. At the end of each day, I also put Frankincense and Lavender on the bottom of my feet before bedtime. Frankincense is a very grounding and calming scent, and I find that it helps me to unwind and naturally helps me fall asleep. My favorite roller blend is 12 drops Frankincense, 8 drops wild orange and 2 drops peppermint. I have given this roller blend recipe to pretty much everyone I know! Frankincense, the oil of truth, has profound psychological and spiritual benefits, long recognized by religious and spiritual traditions*. Frankincense can help access a deeper level of insight and creativity. Wild Orange, the oil of abundance, can foster creativity and support a positive mood*. Peppermint, the oil of a buoyant heart, brings joy to the heart and soul and invigorates the body, mind and spirit.* *reference Emotions & Essential Oils A Modern Resource for Healing Can the oils be used for certain health ailments as well? Essential oils can be used as a natural support for many health ailments. We use essential oils to support our overall health and wellness. Oregano, On Guard, Easy Air which is a respiratory blend are all great oils to support your health when under the weather with a cold or flu. Essential oils can also help naturally support a variety of common health ailments. I always refer to my resource books, Modern Essentials and The Essential Life, to research what oils are best for which ailments and how to use them. Do you find the oils have had an effect not only your health but your lifestyle as well? Definitely! Since I started using essential oils, I have seen a profound effect on my health and also my lifestyle. For many years I have strived to live an environmentally friendly lifestyle also choosing local and organic when it is available and in my price range. We have replaced all of the commercial cleaners in our home with our own DIY homemade all natural cleaners using essential oils. Even though I was buying the “Green” and “Natural” household cleaners, when I make my own at home, I know exactly what the ingredients are. This is so simple, effective and inexpensive. I also use many of the dōTERRA natural spa and personal care products because I know that they are not filled with toxic chemicals that are found in most commercial personal care products that are available today. This is highly important to me, and has been for many years. I have used vegan organic skin care for over 10 years. Our skin is our largest organ; and there’s lots of information available today about the toxic chemicals are in many personal care products. My best advice is to do your research. The other ways that the oils impact my lifestyle, is that I am in love with how the oils can impact mood and emotions. This is something that truly fascinates me and that I am keenly interested in learning more about essential oils and memory, emotions and spirituality. If you were to give one "oil tip" and a few words of inspiration, what would they be? My best oil tip is to find your tribe. When you enroll with a wellness advocate you will be joining a community of essential oil users. A great wellness advocate will offer continuing support and education to help you safely learn how to use your essential oils. I also highly recommend investing in a good resource book such as Modern Essentials, The Essential Life and for those interested in learning about essential oils and emotions I recommend Emotions and Essential Oils, A Modern Resource for Healing. Having a great book as a resource is a definite must for anyone looking to incorporate essential oils into their daily self-care routine. Let's talk a bit about you Jennifer. I see your inspirational and positive posts and I love it. So tell me...what is your why? What gets you jumping out of bed every day? Thank you Vanessa! I am a creative entrepreneur. An artist at heart. I love creating and sharing content on my social media and my blog. I thrive on being creative every single day. If my posts inspire or uplift others, that makes me truly happy. I want to live my most authentic life, and if I can share that and inspire others, then it is a dream come true. I also love helping people find natural solutions to support their health. If I can help people make small changes in their self care routine that will make big changes in their physical, emotional, spiritual and even financial health, this is what gets me out of bed everyday. Truly, I want to be able to give back in a meaningful way. “We each have the innate ability to heal ourselves. To empower ourselves with natural solutions, instead of succumbing to life-altering chemicals. There's a time and place for pharmaceuticals, but it shouldn't be the first answer, nor the only form of treatment.” ~ Dana Arcuri
